About Our Reactive Dog Training

A reactive dog overreacts to normal situations that other dogs would take in stride. They become overstimulated easily and may bark, lunge, and growl at something as simple as another dog or person walking on the other side of the street. Attention to training is extremely important, as reactivity can turn into aggression. The cause of reactivity is usually a lack of proper socialization, fear, or improper training.

If your dog is showing these types of issues, our training experts are here to help! First, we will identify triggers, and from there we can work on a training plan to mitigate your pup’s reactive behavior. Get started today!

I’ve been taking my 14lb miniature Australian Shepherd, Murphy, to Sit Means Sit for three full months now. I was already so impressed with what he learned after just the initial four intensive days, but after three months of consistent weekly classes, I am incredibly proud of how far he has come. That being said, obedience training isn’t a quick fix/task, it also requires practice at home and ongoing reinforcement through weekly classes.

The entire staff is so welcoming and supportive. What I appreciate most is that they understand every dog & owner each come in for different reasons, and that each dog will have their own moments in class along the way. The staff never shames you; instead, they work with you and coach you through even the toughest obstacles with patience and encouragement. I cannot recommend Sit Means Sit enough—they are truly the best.

Sit Means Sit Longmont has worked with us in classes and in private to improve my dogs social behavior. They are very patient and positive. The facility is spacious and clean. My dogs are well cared for when they board there or are there for daycare.
